This one's for you Grandpa Bach!

When I was a kid we all got together as a family to celebrate my Grandpa's birthday, he was lucky enough to be an independence day baby... yes the 4th of July. Well as the years went on, he got older and the parties meant more and more. He is no longer with us, but the 4th of July still means something to me. Just last year I was hoping that I would go into labor with my baby girl in hopes that we could bring the tradition of the big family gathering back. Well she did not come on the 4th of July but 3 days later. My husband and I have decided that the fact that she didn't come on the 4th doesn't mean that we can't celebrate like we did with Grandpa. This picture is for you Grandpa, your Great Granddaughter will have the same values that you gave to me... family is important... and they always will be. Please, take a minute, call your family... or just send them an email! My little girl is lucky to have all the family she has... and hopefully every year we too can bring them all together for her birthday and every year we will take a picture and send it out to our family and friends reminding them how important they are to us. So you have a week think about your family!

Update...

Yes, you guessed it a doctors appointment. Last night Payten was not sleeping in her crib which is a tell tale sign of a ear infection for her. Today after walking Kennesaw Mountain with Ms. Kelli I took Payten to the md to get checked out, I'd rather be crazy than Payten sick. We waited an hour to find out that she has double ear infections, a sinus infection that has compacted her nose and is on a nasal decongestant and an antibiotic. So we had a 14 day reprive of great health and here we are on a new antibiotic again. We will see what we can do after she is 1 year old. She is still a happy baby though that is developmentally doing everything she should be.

Her birthday is coming up and I can't wait for her to love all the attention and cake. Remember that she does have a wish list on http://www.target.com/ if you can't think of anything.

Fathers Day Weekend

We spent father's day weekend with Grandma and Grandpa DeMeester. They spent lots of quality time with Payten including a few hours of babysitting. They bought Payten her birthday present, a little tikes car...Payten had a great time helping building it and then getting to ride in it with her shoes on!

At the top of the stairs with wesson

Payten climbing to bed!

When you watch this the first 2 minutes are dark, then I turned on night vision but turn up your sound for her talking for the first 2 minutes

Payten knows how to climb stairs. We have a gate at the bottom but we let her climb them to go to bed and go up stairs. She loves to do it and she is pretty good at it too.

11 Month Progress

Payten is officially 11 months old. Who figured that a year ago today I was sitting in a class for work and learning how to be a good mentor and was 2cm dialated and having appointments 2 times a week and wishing for her to come on the 4th of July even though that would mean she was very early. None the less here she is today, crawling, standing for 10seconds, taking a step or 2 and well on her way to talking. She says "no" but doesn't know what it means but loves to say it. She also says "hiya", "mom", "dada" and well she babbles a ton and we just try and make sense of it. She is cutting 4 teeth on the top, she is NOT sleeping through the night right now because of those teeth. I am not working since school is out so Scott is catching up on sleep daily until August comes around. We are having Payten's first birthday party at our local neigborhood pavillion on July 5th, where she will have hamburgers, hotdogs and cake with an Elmo theme. Then on the 10th of July we will head to NY for another party in another park on the 13th. We will spend 3 weeks in NY very busy and hopefully we will stay well the whole time. Keep your fingers crossed Payten has not been sick for 10 days! She takes benadryl nightly for her sinus attacks that has seemed to help her stay a little more healthy.

What does Payten want for her Birthday?

I am getting lots of people asking what Payten wants for her 1st birthday. She does NOT need clothes. I buy on clearance and am pretty set till she is 2 years old. She loves books, movies and music so I think she would really enjoy Mary Poppins, Jungle Book and classics that have singing and bright colors in it. Also learning toys. I have made a little wish list on www.target.com at the top of the page you can go to registries and you can click on lists, type in her name and find some examples. You are NOT limited to these I am just trying to help out. Remember what it was like when you were 1, everything goes in the mouth and it's greta if it sings... but better if it teaches something through singing! As a teacher it's a great way for children to learn through song and motion. We are working on talking in words this summer, like asking for more, please and thank you... right now all she can do is call Wesson with smooches and bark back at her... GREAT a baby that can bark!!!
